A Summer of Firsts

In a few weeks, our family will hit a major milestone. Both kids will go to camp for the first time. Soccerboy has been to many camps before, but this will be his first trip to church youth camp and Chatterbox will get to attend children's camp. She's been looking forward to this for a couple of years. It's so exciting to see my kids grow up. Both will be venturing into new territory for the first time, and I will also.

Can you say mommy quiet time?

I think I may be more excited than the kids. He'll be gone for a week, and she'll be gone 2 nights. Those two days of no kids fussing and complaining seem like heaven already. I told Computergenius he can't take off work. Although it would be fun to spend uninterrupted time with hubby, mommy needs a bit of recharging too. I also told him we're eating out those 2 nights. If I'm taking time off, I should enjoy it.

Right now I'm planning to fill those days with movies, writing, and naps. Two leisure days to myself sound more than fantastic.
