Do you think God speaks to us through dreams? I was curious about this for several years. I know many times your dreams can be issues in your life, your body/mind trying to tell you something or you ate some bad pizza.
I also think God can speak to you through your dreams (images, pictures, music, etc) I was just "throwing this out" for your opinions and impressions. Feel free to share your opinion or perhaps an experience that God used to speak to you!

I'm pretty sure he does, sometimes I will have a dream in 'answer' to a question that won't settle-and usually, it works out in such a way that I know only God could've done that.
I owe my salvation to a dream. When I was eight years old I had a dream. At the beginning all I could see was a gray line extending as far as I could see. I straddled the line. On my right side was a red mountain with a man at the top calling me by name. There was nothing on my right side so I turned toward the mountain and started to climb. The higher I got, the more things the man at the top started giving me. I was given (remember I was only 8) cars, diamond and gold jewelry, more money than I could carry and women falling at my feet. Halfway up the mountain I heard the man at the top say "You are almost here. I'll give you everything when you get to the top."
At that point I turned around, for the first time, and looked back at the gray line. On the other side of the line there stood a man, completely alone. His arms were stretched out and there were tears in His eyes. He was offering nothing and yet I KNEW that I needed to get off the mountain and stand by the man with the tears. As I descended the mountain the man at the top started screaming all kinds of vulgarities and the people on the mountain tried to stop me from leaving the mountain. Finally, I made it back to the gray line and stepped accross to stand by the man with the tears. I instantly felt a peace like nothing I could describe. The man, who I now recognized as Jesus, put His arm around me and I knew I had found where I needed to be. But I looked back at the gray line.
At the end of my dream I had left Jesus' side and had gone back to the gray line. I put one foot over the line and straddled, as I was in the beginning of my dream.
I awoke with tears streaming down my face, knowing I MUST make a decision and not keep straddling the line.
My decision was to live my life for Jesus. It has been worth the walk, in every way.

If God can speak through a burning bush, He can certainly speak through our dreams. However, I don't think He always does. I have a conviction that when it's God's voice, it's always in line with His Word and His Truth.
I know that He can, yes.....He did so in the Bible.
I believe He still does.
You will know.
I had God speak to my heart about something awhile ago, while I was awake, though~
I dismissed it because it didn't make sense.
It was so profound, so real.
I didn't hear a voice but it was as sure as if someone had spoken words, out loud, to me.
I kept pushing the thought and feeling away.
God knows tomorrow so much better than we do though.
If I would have told someone what I felt God gave to me, they would have thought I had lost my mind.
All I can say is this~
God works in mysterious ways.
No matter how much something does not make sense, if it is God speaking to your heart, trust it!
My entire life changed overnight and only God knew that ahead of time.
God could reveal in dreams today, but the completed written Word of God and the indwelling Holy Spirit have made dreams of this kind unnecessary (Joseph had only the Old Testament). To be preoccupied today with dreams for guidance, instead of choosing to receive guidance from principles given in God's Word, is to be led astray. The spirit of evil can also give impressions in sleep and even disguise himself as an "angel of light" (Deuteronomy 13:1-3; 2 Corinthians 11:14; 1 John 4:1). Now that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer who has personally received Christ through faith, He will impart God's guidance by making the written Word of God (the Bible) applicable in daily experience.
Amen, that's why we know that the Holy Spirit will be poured out upon all flesh in the last days, and that those who know the Good Shepherd shall know and hear His voice to follow.
The Bible says in Joel and Acts (Peter giving the sermon of Joel) that in the end times dreams and visions and the Holy Spirit poured out on all mankind. There are the testimonies of many Middle Eastern people who have come to Christ because of dreams, seeing Him and seeking to know more. Personally, God shows me more things in open visions. Like some of you, I get answers and inspiration to do things upon first recognition of awakening. But since earliest childhood have had open visions of both the "unseen" and visual world.
Absolutely, without a doubt! He has written entire songs for me in my dreams and giving me a prophecy that I would perform them in a certain situation that exactly came to pass four years later! He constantly uses dreams to give me new revelations about scripture I've read dozens of times. Often He wakes me up and I lie there for an hour or so, just soaking it in.
Yes, God speaks to us in dreams. He also uses other means to talk to us, too. Mainly His word. But sometimes, in other ways, too.
Many times I, and other members of my church have recieved warning dreams of things about to happen in either our individual families, or in the church as a whole. One time, my pastor had a very vivid warning dream about 3 different snakes. God revealed that these snakes were certain church members that needed to be watched out for. He revealed their identities one at a time, and sure enough, they were trouble makers. When they were lovingly confronted about what they were doing, (backbiting, gossiping, tearing down leaders) they left the church.
So yes, God uses dreams sometimes to talk to us. Not all dreams are from Him, and not all dreams are from the enemy, and some dreams are too much pizza too late!
But as in everything else, there needs to be balance. Dont get so caught up in dreams that you miss His voice in other areas!
Doesn't it say in the Bible that in the end times men will dream dreams and see visions? Aren't there several references in the bible where the Lord spoke to his people in dreams? I'd have to say, I firmly believe that he speaks to us in our dreams.
Smiles,
Chey
