About Me:
Hi, I'm in my fifties, married way above me and work and live in Oklahoma. I have two grown kids and three grandkids which I'm trying to spoil.

I looked around one day and decided I have wasted part of my life living it in the rut. So I took up painting, the guitar, working with stain glass, and developing my writing skills, hopefully I can use them to bring glory and praise to God.

Heavenly Poem

I received this in an email today and thought I'd pass it on. The author is unknown, by me anyway. I was shocked, confused, bewildered As I entered Heaven's door, Not by the beauty of it all, Nor the lights or its decor. But it was the folks in Heaven Who made me sputter and gasp-- The thieves, the liars, the sinners, The alcoholics and the trash. There stood the kid from seventh grade Who swiped my lunch money twice. Next to him was my old neighbor Who never said anything nice. Bob, who I… Continue

Humbled Once Again

In a meeting at church the other night, the leader read from the intro to a Max Lucado book. In the way only Max Lucado can write (my paraphrase as I don't have this book), he said what if one day you wake up and Jesus is standing by your bed and said "I'll take over for you today, rest and relax, I've got you covered." As he drove to the doughnut shop for coffee, stopped for gasoline, would those people see the difference in you? What about your co-workers, would they see a difference in the wa… Continue

Happy Fourth Of July

Three examples of how our Founding Fathers were men of faith: John Adams, 2nd President of the United States: "The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God." John Quincy Adams, 6th President of the United States: "My hopes of a future life are all founded upon the Go… Continue

Ten Words You Can't Say

George Carlin's death filled the news today, so this entry is for him. I don't know what his relationship with Jesus was, but I can imagine by his routines. So, for George: Ten Words You Can't Say In Hell 1. Fun - "This ain't the Love Boat!" 2. Cool - Who'd want to be reminded of being cool? 3. Friend - "Will anybody talk to me, we're gonna be here a long time." 4. Water - "Hey, my mouths a little dry here." 5. Thermostat - As in where is it 6. Beauty - Cause satan is soooo ugly. 7. Bible - No… Continue

Disappointment

The last few weeks I've been disappointed. There's work that is a disappointment daily, but that doesn't bother me as it is just temporary until I retire or the Lord returns. My main disappointment has been in myself. I severely disappoint myself. I'm not disappointed professionally, I'm good at what I do. I'm not disappointed in my marriage, I married way above me, she may be disappointed but not me. No, I'm disappointed in how I fail my Lord every day, day in and day out. I'm not the witness a… Continue

Hi
Hopes are planted in heart's garden where dreams blossom into tremendous treasures. Never lose hope because doubts hinder God's power. For the Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. Psalms 100 wish you a good day Greetings to your family.

All I have is prayer for you that you cling to God, He's all we have. Heloves you so much. Ps 15
God gives answers in three ways. 1.He says YES and gives you whatever you like
2.He says NO and gives you something better.
3.He says WAITand gives you the best.great day Paul

Hi Isaiah 40 This passage is supposed to be read aloud beautifully. There are many sayings in it that are hard to understand but immeasurebly hard to explain. Talk about them and, still more, think about them until they soak into your mind; and then you will find that, in some marverous way, you are able to understand them after all. Blessings-Paul

No, I didn't! I interviewed about 14 or more authors. Their publicists set it up with us in the weeks before. But everyone was so nice and I learned so much! Wish I could have meant him too!

Thank you so much for commenting on my post brother, it's so good to hear from you. I agree with you about discussions and disputes among believers and the picture it portrays to the outside world. I also think we need to evidence that false teachings require a response that is delivered in truth and love, that we are unafraid to correct each other at times as well. It is a challenging balance but one that we need to reconcile so that those who are seeking truth, find the truth and the power of the Gospel of Christ. I found it disengenuous that the originating author of the treatise posted tried to shame those that disagreed by calling out those that would consider his teaching heretical or false. Sometimes the truth needs to be said, though I mostly find myself too intimidated to do so. But as we read in Isaiah the question God asks is "Who will go for me?"
As always I am blessed by your fellowship, be well brother. YBIC - Aaron
